Spring Concert and Sock Hop
Thursday, May 5th 7:00-9:00
This spring we will be jumping back in time to the 1950’s! Please bring your parents , grandparents and great grandparents. They’re going to love the music. The concert will take place at 7p and will last just under an hour. Following the presentation, there will be a sock hop for all students and their families. We will dance the night away—until 9p, that is. There will be a Mother/Son dance and a Daddy/Daughter dance. There will also be a Twist contest. Upper Elementary students have learned a few dance moves from the 50s and will be out on the floor dancing their socks off with their crazy moves. Since dancing works up an appetite, we will be selling hotdogs and rootbeer floats. Any and all proceeds will go to supporting the band/music program here at Sheldon. R-8. We’d love to have you and the students are SUPER excited to sing and dance for you and with you. Please make plans to be here and charge your phones, you won’t want to miss a single minute!
PARENTS: We are encouraging 50s dress and hair for both guys and gals. DO NOT feel like you have to purchase a costume. I am including some pics of some very basic looks that you can provide for your child that evening. The more we go all out, the more fun we have. So PARENTS—we encourage you to dress up as well...It is a sock hop after all!
